New CFS trigger figures available from 1 March 2018

Following a review, the Money Advice Trust has published new CFS trigger figures effective from the 1 April 2014 due to increases in inflation reflected within the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

From 1 April 2014, there is a period of two months to allow CFS licence holders time to integrate the new figures into their systems/processes. Organisations will therefore be expected to use the new trigger figures and update any software packages using the CFS by 1 June 2014. After this date, any offers made using previous trigger figures will not be CFS compliant.

The new trigger figures are now live on the CFS website and can be accessed by licence holders. We recommend the following actions for all licence holders:

  • You should download a new version of the CFS budget form (Excel spreadsheet) from the CFS website to ensure that you are using the new trigger figures.
  • There will be a ‘switch over’ period to allow CFS licence holders to integrate the new figures into their internal systems/processes. We expect all licence holders to use the new figures by 1 June 2014.
  • Trigger figures should not be disclosed to members of the public or made available to non licence-holders.
  • If you do not hold a licence but wish to use the CFS and have access to the associated trigger figures you can sign up for a licence on the CFS website.
